RADIO
Installation
The following instructions describe the installation of a radio. These are based on information received from Radiomobile Ltd, leading radio and tape player manufacturers.
A retractable aerial must be mounted in the appropriate position in the nearside front wing (see AERIAL later).
Components are provided in the Radiomobile installation kit for suppressing interference from the coil and alternator and details on their fitting is given in the SUPPRESSION section.
WARNING: Before connection to the battery supply it is essential to ensure that the polarity of the radio is suitable for vehicle application. See instruction on underside of unit. Wrong polarity will damage transistors.

NOTE: It may be found necessary to cut away trim material in the area of hole 'A'(underside).
2. Align the mounting bracket so that it lies squarely under tray and using bracket as a template mark off the position of the two remaining fixing holes 'B' .
3. Remove mounting bracket and drill two holes at marked off positions in parcel tray.
4. Secure mounting bracket to the underside of tray with fixings provided as shown in .
5. Assemble radio unit into mounting bracket using fixings provided, adjusting radio in bracket so that the front edge is level with the front under side edge of parcel tray and secure fixings.
6. Connect battery lead to snap connector green lead/ white tracer located to rear of heater on right hand side.

Pre March 1976 with Column Switch

7. Using the double Lucas termination now provided on radio fuse lead, connect to rear of lighting switch at brown lead/blue tracer. (Pull off brown lead/blue tracer from switch, connect radio lead to switch and then connect brown lead/blue tracer to blade on side of radio lead connector).

Pre March 1976 Without Column Switch

Connect fuse lead to the spare 'Lucas' type blade at main battery connection (brown lead) at rear of ignition switch.
NOTE: Vehicles with de luxe heater. To gain access to rear of ignition switch remove the two drive screws at the top flange of heater unit. The heater unit can then be lowered away from switch panel.
